In November 2011 triple innova, in its role as an Organizational Stakeholder of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), participated in a GRI G4 Consultation Workshop in Frankfurt. During the Public Comment Period of the G4 Guidelines, GRI asked their German stakeholders to provide feedback. During the workshop, ideas for the scope and structure of the G4 Guidelines were discussed and expectations, suggestions and requirements for a new generation of Guidelines were exchanged. GRI also sought to learn about the reporting needs of different sectors and to engage in discussions about how sector-specific disclosures may be integrated into the Guidelines. The results of the workshops are fed into the activities of the working groups that are currently developing the guidelines. The global multi-stakeholder process is planned to last until May 2013. As an Organizational Stakeholder and Training Partner of GRI, and experienced consultant and coach for the use of the guidelines in small, medium and large enterprises and organisations, triple innova is committed to actively contributing to improving the Guidelines. tripe innova is supportive of the general trend towards “Integrated reporting”, i.e. the integration of annual financial and sustainability reporting. However, it must be recognised that integrated reporting is neither feasible nor appropriate for many SMEs and other organisations because of practical restrictions, because those organisations do not publish extensive annual reports or because they have only recently started to report on their sustainability performance. |
