On behalf of REWE Group, triple innova carried out two extensive Hot Spot analyses in the field of household goods and DIY products.

The first stage of these Hot Spot analyses is to compile information regarding the environmental and social problems of the products, as identified in scientific publications as well as in current public discussions. The second stage prioritises the problems. The end result of the analyses is the identification of the most relevant problems in every phase of the product life cycle. In this way the methodology contributes to the decision-making process related to the sustainable improvement of products in the long-term by focusing not on trivialities but on the big issues of nature consumption and pollution and social problems along the value chain.

triple innova prepares Hot Spot analyses in an interdisciplinary team. The results are completed by the practical and expert knowledge of external stakeholders, which has the advantage of filling any existing gaps in research and offering an evaluation about future sustainability issues relating to the specific products.
